The CPOF National Honor Guard“Another Word from the Commander”![]() I am proud to announce that the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation (CPOF) has formed a CPOF Honor Guard that is ready to respond to any and all Corrections families that are in need of a Memorial Ceremony function. Over the past years we have noticed that all too often there is a need for a Memorial Ceremony Honor Guard for Fallen Officers and at times there is none available, no rifle squad, no color guard, flag folding or just bits and pieces. The CPOF Honor Guard is ready to attend functions to show our respect and if called upon we are able to perform all or part of a Memorial Ceremony should the need arise. The CPOF Honor Guard made its first appearance at the Memorial Ceremony in 2009 at Project 2000 XX in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the moment, the Honor Guard is comprised of Officers from California, Nevada, Mississippi, New York and Pennsylvania. If you are interested in joining the CPOF Honor Guard, fill out an application at the Honor Guard registration table this June at Project 2000 XXI in Buffalo, New York. Steve Dizmon, Captain, Retired CDC CPOF National Honor Guard Commander since 1989. Retired from the California Department of Corrections in 2000 after 30 years where he served as a Correctional Captain. Military: United States Marine Corps.
