Scholarship Program

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation statement of policy to govern the awarding of Academic Scholarships as authorized by its Board of Directors.


The scholarships for the academic year of 201/2012 have been awarded.

The deadline for submitting an application for the academic year 2012/2013
will be April 16, 2012.

Applications must be postmarked by April 16, 2012 and received in our office
NO LATER than April 27, 2012.

Criteria

The Correctional Peace Officers Foundation offers a scholarship to; A "Qualifying Person", and/or person(s) related to, a "Qualifying Person. A "Qualifying Person" is one who is actively working in (or retired from) the Corrections profession.

Based upon available funds, the scholarship, number of awards and amounts, are awarded and approved by the CPOF Board of Directors

In order to comply with the requirements, the following guidelines are established for scholarships awarded by the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation:

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • be related to a "Qualifying Person" (active supporting member, for a minimum of 12 consecutive months, or retired supporting member, of the Corrections Peace Officers Foundation)
  • be a U.S Citizen or Legal Non-Citizen
  • be a full-time student
  • be making satisfactory academic progress, a cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher
  • have not completed a BA/BS degree
  • have financial need

Scholarship(s) may be awarded for students enrolled in, or planning to enroll in an accredited, non-accredited institution, career training college and/or certification program.

 

Student Scholarships

The following factors must be met before eligibility for financial assistance is considered. An applicant must:

  • Have applied for admission, be accepted for admission, or previously enrolled.
  • CPOF must receive CPOF Scholarship Application, including complete essay (autobiographical sketch) which provides general information about self.
  • CPOF will require supporting documentation; such as a copy of; Report Card, Transcripts Application for Admission, Acceptance Letter of Admission.
