Project 2000 XX
Our Project 2000 XX gathering and Annual National Memorial Service in Colorado Springs was a wonderful success. We are pleased to present Set #1 of our photos from Project 2000 XX: The Annual National Memorial Service. The Service took place on Friday, June 19, 2009 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at "America the Beautiful Park". Pike's Peak is prominent in the background, while the park's unique sculpture, a slowly rotating fountain, provided a dramatic setting for our ceremony. The view from the summit of Pike's Peak inspired a young woman named Katharine Lee Bates to write the poem "America the Beautiful" in 1893. As we all know, the poem was later put to a melody written by Samuel Ward and quickly became one of our nation's most beloved songs.
