Parole Officer Barry Sutherland New York City Division of Paroles, New York New York City Division of Parole Parole Officer Barry Sutherland was shot and killed on December 13, 1976 by a parole violator whom Officer Sutherland was attempting to take into custody. Parole Officer Sutherland was recognized at the 1993 Memorial Service at Project 2000 IV in Washington, D.C. He was represented by Mr. Raul Russi, who was then Chairman of the New York State Board of Parole, and by New York State Parole Officer Michael Bell, who is a long-standing Supporting Member of the CPO Foundation.
