Correctional Officer Cliff Grogan SCI Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Correctional Officer Clifford Grogan Sr. was murdered on November 12,1965 at SCI-Pittsburgh. Minutes before going off duty, Officer Grogan saw the need for his immediate assistance when a fellow Officer was suddenly attacked by an inmate. Officer Grogan went to his colleague’s aid and in the resulting struggle was stabbed to death. SCI-Pittsburgh C/O Clifford Grogan Jr. and wife Beverly became passionately committed Volunteer Representatives for the CPO Foundation for over ten years. Also active as volunteers were their daughter Sami Grogan and family friend Heather Lyndell.
