Correctional Sergeant Michael Price Garden State Youth Correctional Facility, New Jersey New Jersey Department of Corrections, Corrections Sergeant Michael Price of Garden State Youth Correctional Facility died on April 19, 2000 after suffering a heart attack while struggling with an inmate. Other Officers and medical personnel immediately started CPR on Sergeant Price who was transported to a local hospital. He was pronounced dead approximately one hour later. Sergeant Price was a member of the American Legion as well as President of the Military Riders Motorcycle Club. An avid motorcyclist, Sergeant Price participated in numerous motorcycle events each year, including the Polar Bear Ride and several runs for charity. He had planned to participate in the Law Enforcement “Survivors” Bike Run. He also enjoyed NASCAR races and going to Daytona every year. Sergeant Price is survived by his wife, Cindy, and son, Daniel. A daughter, Andrea, preceded him in death.
