Correctional Sergeant Allen Gamble

Oklahoma Department of Corrections Correctional Sergeant Allen Gamble of Oklahoma State Reformatory died on June 6, 2000. He was stabbed in the neck from behind on June 5 by an inmate who had just savagely attacked a fellow Officer. After graduating from high school, Sergeant Gamble worked for the Treasure Job Corps as a firefighter and then served in the U.S. Air Force. He began his career with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and playing with his children. Sergeant Gamble was one month short of his 29th birthday when he was murdered. He is survived by his wife, whom he met while stationed in Altus, Oklahoma; their four sons, ; and his mother.
