Correctional Officer Steve Carroll Stephenson County Sheriff Department, Illinois Correctional Officer Carroll Suffered a fatal heart attack on 4/23/04 after struggling with an unruly prisoner in one of the courtrooms. He collapsed moments after physically removing the prisoner from the courtroom and placing him in a holding cell. Officer Carroll is survived by his wife Becky Carroll, twin daughters Cheryl and Mandy and granddaughter Hannah and extended family members.
