Correctional Officer Scott Bryant Iowa State Penitentiary, Iowa Correctional Officer Scott Bryant was struck and killed on 5/17/04 by a vehicle while officially representing the Iowa Department of Corrections during a Special Olympics Law enforcement Torch Run. An elderly driver passed the security patrol car that was following the runners in the Torch Run and re-entered the roadway. Officer Bryant seeing the approaching car, pushed another Correctional Officer out of the way a split second before being struck, saving the other Officer's life. Officer Bryant is survived by his wife Micki Bryant and daughters Brooke and Bailie.
