Correctional Officer Elizabeth Franklin – December 7, 2007 – Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women- Alabama Department of Corrections. Officer Franklin succumbed to injuries suffered one week earlier when she fell down a set of tower steps while going to her post at the Institution. She was transported to a local hospital where she remained in critical condition until she ultimately died from her injuries. Officer Franklin is survived by her four adult children Sheleta, Formeshia, Donnell and Theodore.
