Corrections Deputy Daniel Thorpe –October 22, 2007 – Shelby County Sheriff’s Department – Tennessee. Corrections Deputy Daniel Thorpe collapsed while on duty. He was walking to the lobby from his unit after receiving a call to come up front. Staff tried to revive him but were not successful, Deputy Thorpe died of a heart attack. Deputy Thorpe is survived by his wife Cheryl, 8-year old daughter Addy and 6-year old son Allenton.
