Correction Officer David McGuinn – July 25, 2006 - Maryland State Division of Correction, Maximum-Security Maryland House of Correction. Officer McGuinn was stabbed to death while conducting a nightly prisoner count. The officer was attacked by several inmates and stabbed multiple times in the neck, and lower torso, in areas not protected by his stab vest. The inmates were all taken into custody. Officer McGuinn was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds one hour later. Officer McGuinn served the Maryland Department of Correction for two years. He is survived by his 18 year old daughter Shayna, 9 year old son Zacary, stepdaughter Aisha, his mother Janice, sisters Crystal and Loretta, and brothers Joe, Mike and Victor.
