6/2/2005 Correctional Officer Gabriel Saucedo Department of Corrections, Arizona Arizona State Prison Complex - Safford Correctional Officer Saucedo had relieved the officer prior to him and exchanged the duty weapon to start his shift as outside perimeter patrol at the prison complex. A call was received for medical help. Responding staff and medical assistance was dispatched to aid Officer Saucedo. It was determined that this fatality was caused by the accidental discharge of the duty weapon. Officer Saucedo is survived by his wife Toni, son Gabriel Junior, daughters Marisa and Monica and extended family members.
