2/4/2005 Correctional Field Probation and Parole Officer Anthony Lucas Department of Corrections, Mississippi Correctional Field Probation and Parole Officer Anthony Lucas also served as the part time Police Chief of French Camp, Mississippi. Field Officer Lucas had joined other Choctaw County officers in a brief pursuit of a vehicle which had fled during a traffic stop. The fleeing car stopped at a house and four juveniles inside the car jumped out, with three running inside the house and one running down the road. As Field Officer Lucas walked toward the house a 16 year old male came out and shot him with a shotgun. Officer Lucas served with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for seven years and with the French Camp Police Department for two years. He is survived by his wife Penny, his son Anthony Kyle, Parents Brenda and Wendell Lucas and sister Aimee Oakes.
