Correctional Officer Jack Pierce Mississippi County Work Release Center, Luxora, Mississippi Arkansas Department of Corrections Correctional Officer Jack Pierce of the Mississippi County Work Release Center in Luxora, Arkansas was killed in a traffic accident on December 31, 1997 while in a state vehicle as he was getting food supplies and payroll checks. Correctional Officer Pierce was 51 years old and is survived by his wife, and their two-year-old son, Jack’s daughter, ; his stepson, and his mother.
