Correctional Sergeant Marc Perse Department of Corrections, Colorado Colorado Department of Corrections Correctional Sergeant Marc Perse was killed on August 15, 1994 at the age of 26. Sergeant Perse fell to his death from a tower in a rappelling accident while on training exercises with the Special Operations Response Team. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Colorado and had spent three and a half years with the Colorado DOC. He is survived by his wife Pam, three brothers and his parents Helen and Richard.
