Correctional Officer Kevin McGuire Urbana Community Corrections Center, Illinois Illinois Department of Corrections Correctional Officer Kevin McGuire of the Urbana Community Corrections Center, Minimum Work Release Program, was killed in an on-duty accident on December 31, 1996. Officer McGuire was transporting inmates when his state vehicle was hit by a drunk driver. Correctional Officer McGuire was 51 years old. He is survived by his daughter Stacey, son Patrick, mother Betty Larson, brothers Dennis, Jim and Joe, and sister Mary Jane Gearing.
