Correctional Officer Bill Himstedt Transportation Unit of the Diagnostic Unit TDCJ-ID, Texas Texas Department of Criminal Justice- Institutional Division Correctional Officer Bill Himstedt was part of the Transportation Unit of the Diagnostic Unit-TDCJ-ID in Huntsville, Texas. Officer Himstedt was killed in an accident while transporting inmates when the bus he was driving rolled several times after he lost control on August 8, 1998. Officer Himstedt was 61 years old. He is survived by his daughter Stacey Wilhite and son Bill Jr.
