Correctional Officer II Carlton Cherry Jack T. Rutledge State Prison, Georgia Georgia Department of Corrections Correctional Officer II Carlton Cherry had 20 years of military servic , including overseas tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany. He received numerous awards and decorations during his military career. Officer Cherry was a nine-year veteran of Corrections, with several awards including “Officer of the Year.” Officer Cherry is survived by his son Carlton, Jr. and daughters Carlethia and Keesha.
