Correctional Lieutenant Robert Boud Department of Public Safety, Essex County, New Jersey Essex County, New Jersey Department of Public Safety Corrections Lieutenant Robert Boud died on January 8, 1995. Lieutenant Boud suffered a fatal heart attack ten minutes after having had a physical altercation with an inmate. Lieutenant Boud was 45 and a Vietnam veteran. He had served in Corrections for 24 years. He is survived by his wife Kathy, sons William and Matthew and daughters Kimberly and Katie.
