Court Security Officer Harry Belluomini Federal Courthouse in Chicago, Illinois United States Marshals Service Court Security Officer Harry Belluomini was killed in the line of duty on July 20, 1992 at the federal courthouse in Chicago. Court Security Officer Belluomini, 58, was shot twice in the chest by an inmate who had overpowered one of his escorts and seized her weapon. The perpetrator was on trial for eight bank robberies. He shot and killed Deputy U.S. Marshal Roy Frakes moments before killing Officer Belluomini. Before he died Officer Belluomini fired four rounds and severely wounded the perpetrator twice. The perpetrator then shot himself in the head. Officer Belluomini is survived by his wife Milly, son Michael and daughters Karen and Anne Marie. Milly Belluomini attended Project 2000 IV in 1993 in the company of Deputy Marshal Frakes’ widow Wendy.
