Correctional Officer David "Mike" Anthony Iredell Correctional Center, Statesville, North Carolina North Carolina Department of Corrections Correctional Officer David "Mike" Anthony of Iredell Correctional Center, Statesville, North Carolina and fellow Officer Greg Bacote were supervising a highway work crew on October 27, 1998 when Officer Anthony was struck and killed instantly by unsecured material falling from a passing semi truck. Officer Anthony was 41 years old. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lynne, daughter Hannah, son Chad, sister Georgia Wike, and parents Hurley and Mallie Anthony.
