Correctional Lieutenant Joseph Silva So. New Mexico Correctional Facility Las Cruces, New Mexico New Mexico Department of Corrections Correctional Lieutenant Joe Silva was beaten to death on April 3, 1987 by an inmate. Lieutenant Silva worked at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife Dolores and sons.
