Parole Officer Brian Rooney New York City Division of Paroles, New York New York City Division of Parole Parole Officer Brian Rooney was shot and killed on October 10, 1985 in the performance of his duty as a Parole Officer. He had become the target of a drug-related contract hit as a result of an investigation he was conducting. Officer Rooney was honored in 1993 at the Project 2000 IV Memorial Service in Washington, D.C. Parole Officer Rooney’s widow Susan and son Tommy attended as guests of the CPO Foundation, and personally accepted the flags and plaque from the CPO Foundation in Officer Rooney’s memory.
