Correctional Lieutenant Fred House Utah Department of Corrections, Utah Utah Department of Corrections Correctional Lieutenant Fred House was shot and killed on January 28, 1988 during a lengthy standoff with an extremist group. His K-9 partner also lost his life. Fred’s widow Ann has been a Volunteer for the CPO Foundation for many years. She and the House’s three children, Seth, Janneke and Christy, have been an integral part of Project 2000 from the very beginning.
